Privacy
Capstar is a small hobby site. This is what we keep and why.
What we store
- Your account id from the sign-in provider you use: Discord, Google or Steam. For email sign-in we store a hashed form of your address, not the address itself.
- Your display name and avatar, and your email address where the provider gives it to us.
- Session cookies that keep you signed in.
- Basic activity logs, such as sign-ins and pages visited, including the IP address used. Activity log entries are deleted after 30 days.
- A security record of IP addresses that visit the site, used to block abuse and to warn about sign-ins from new places. An address that hasn't been seen for 180 days is moved to an archive. Addresses that are blocked for abuse are kept on the record.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't run ads or third-party trackers.
The site is served through Cloudflare, which handles every request on our behalf and may collect basic security and analytics data, such as IP addresses and request details. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Where it lives
Your data is kept on our own server, with daily backups.
